Bakewell Farmers market Saturday 25th July 2009 
Farmers Markets are an opportunity to buy food and local products direct from

local farmers, producers and craftsmen. They sell only products which

have been grown, raised, baked or caught locally, normally within 30

miles. They do not sell GM foods. Many stallholders will be registered

organic producers.

Bakewell Farmers Market is held at the Bakewell Agricultural centre
and takes place on the last Saturday of the month from 9 am to 2 pm.

Bakewell Croquet Club 1st April - 29th October 2009 
All necessary equipment is available and existing members are happy to guide you
through the rudiments of thegame. Formal coaching sessions at other locations
are available within the season for those who are interested.

During the summer months betweenApril to early October,
there are sessions on Thursday at 14.00 and again at 18.00. There are also
sessions onSaturday at ten oclock. Eachsession usually lasts in region of
two hours and matches are arranged on an ad hoc basis between the members who
turn up. Members are free to arrange games at other times.

Carparking is readily available nearby.

Bakewell carnival Week 27th June - 5th July 2009 
<b>Bakewell carnival 2009</b>
Carnival fun air Events taking place around the town all week and on the the main Carnival Day, held on the 1st Saturday In July at the end 0f Carnival
Week. The whole town comes to a standstill for a couple of hours as a
procession of decorated floats, bands and musicians, fancy dress
characters and Carnival queens make their way through the streets to
the merry sounds of singing, loud music, brass and steel bands, when
magical mayhem is enjoyed by cheering crowds of onlookers. Bakewell
Band is one of the oldest in the area, being formed way back in 1832.
As well as fun runs, a raft race in the river and evening entertainment
around the town, Carnival Week in Bakewell also provides thrills,
spills and squeals to the otherwise peaceful town when a travelling
fairground arrives for a few days with The Waltzer still stirring the
stomach and bringing back memories of courting days and cuddles for
anyone up to 65 or even older!
