 | First Movement’s Level Centre is celebrating Christmas with ‘Pathfinder’, a magical light projection specially created in collaboration with artist Tim Haynes which is to form part of the Angel Fest event in Rowsley.
Tim, who is currently undergoing a 6-months’ placement with First Movement as part of the government’s Future Jobs Fund initiative, has also been working with artist Rachel Carter in a collaboration which combines beautiful willow sculptures with light installations to be shown at the Level Centre during January.
Artist Tim is essentially concerned with landscape and identity, producing vibrant paintings and drawings onto glass, wood and paper as well as video installations, sound sculptures and indoor/outdoor projections. As an emerging artist, his first year has been highly productive, with a range of paintings and light sculptures that have attracted wide attention leading to a commission for a light installation, ’land_slice’, for the 2010 Wirksworth Festival. His work has already become sought after by private collectors.
‘Pathfinder’ will be on view outside the Level Centre as part of the Angel Fest event until 10 December and will be visible from the A6 Rowsley to Bakewell/Matlock Road.
For further information on First Movement arts activities or hire of the Level Centre space and Creative Industry Studios contact Janette Hockley-Webster on 01629 734848 |
