| | | Ashgate Hospice Garden party | Sunday 26th September 2010 |
|
>The Old Vicarage residential home, part of the Westwick Group, will be hosting their annual Garden Party on Sunday 26th September in the grounds of the home on Yeld Road in Bakewell.
This year they will be supporting Ashgate Hospice, having raised over £400 last year for Newholme Hospital.
“At The Old Vicarage we always like to support a local charity”, said Home Manager Liz Wass, “and we hope that we can repeat the success of last year”.
Entertainment will include a performance from Story Bag Theatre, which went down a storm last year, and music will be provided by Cressbrook Silver Band.
There will also be a variety of stalls, ranging from cakes to books, arts and crafts. Games will include tombola, Hook-a-Duck and a raffle.
Teas, coffees and a cream tea will be served throughout the afternoon for a small charge.
The Garden Party is open to the public as well as friends and family of The Old Vicarage from 2pm on Sunday 26th September. There is no charge for admission, however guests are asked to give a donation.
The Garden Party VIP this year will be Miss Ethel Jackson, the home’s oldest resident who will be having a special birthday next month. Miss Jackson from Edensor will be turning 100 at the end of October, so the event will be a great start to her birthday celebrations.
For more information about the Garden Party, or if anyone would like to donate a prize for the raffle, please contact the Manager Liz Wass on 01629 418659. | |
